V	volts	Unit of electrical measurement
VAC	volts alternating current	AC voltage
VAF	vane airflow sensor	Located in the air intake ahead of the TB, measures the volume of air flowing. Also called AFM or MAF
VCM	vehicle control module	Controls the vehicle. Also known as a ECM or PCM
VDC	volts direct current	DC voltage
VDV	vacuum delay valve	Delays vacuum at a set rate.
VIN	vehicle identification number	Description of a vehicle that is mass produced.
VOM	volt ohm meter	Hand held tester for voltage and resistance.
VR	voltage regulator	Keeps the output of a generator or alternator to a constant voltage.
VS	vehicle sensor	Mechanical or electronic
VSM	vehicle security module	Used on Ford vehicles to control keyless entry, TPMS, door locks, etc.
VSS	vehicle speed sensor	Senses speed at the wheels, driveshaft or transmission.
